Take an action flight over Paris on the back of an eagle
An eagle's breathtaking flight at 180km/h over the City of Light has been captured by a Sony Action Cam attached to the bird's back.
We can't soar on the wings of an eagle, even using a virtual-reality bird flight simulator -- but, thanks to action video cameras, we can dream... and even take flight over one of the world's most romantic city.
Equipped with a Sony Action Cam Mini, white-tailed eagle Victor launched into flight off the tip of the Eiffel Tower.
"An amazing point of view!" Victor's team, Wings of Liberty, wrote. "For the first time you will see how Paris looks like from the back of a bird. First gliding over the Trocadero, Victor then plunges at 180 km/h to the ground!"
As stunning as it is, Victor's flight isn't simply for its own sake: Wings of Liberty is promoting a crowdfunding campaign on the rather brilliantly named European platform KissKissBankBank: an animal conservation project by falconer Jacques-Olivier Travers to reintroduce the white-tailed eagle to France's skies after an absence of 50 years.
"To realise his dream, and to the delight of nature lovers, he has associated with Muriel Barra (producer) to achieve an unusual film, a modern fairy tale, a kind of animal docudrama," the description reads. "Beyond making us dream and tell a great story, this film will make us understand that this majestic eagle has its place in nature."
