It's been nearly three months since Motorola's flagship phone became available, and now the mega-retailer is looking to move more Verizon models of the device -- to the benefit of cheapskates.

Amazon has dropped the price of the Verizon Wireless model of Motorola's flagship Android phone down to a single penny (with a new two-year contract, of course). So, either there's still plenty of interest in Google-owned Motorola's first true collaborative smartphone, and lowering the price to effectively nothing will amount to tons of new Verizon subscribers and a nice cut for Amazon, or...(perhaps more likely) there are tons of Moto X units taking up too much warehouse space around the country.
Amazon's price for the AT&T version of the Moto X is still holding at $49 with a new contract.
Moto X prices began dropping just weeks after it first became available in late August, which is not entirely surprising since Google has been known to subsidize its hardware.
Verizon's relationship with Motorola and Google is somewhat difficult to sort out. Verizon support has not yet been forthcoming for Google's Nexus 7 and
Regardless of what the phone-y politics may be, right now the Moto X looks to be just about the best deal going for Android fans in a position to slap on those big red shackles for the next two years.
