Two large Midwest school districts have bought Sun Microsystems hardware and software, the Palo Alto, Calif., company said Wednesday. Detroit Public Schools will use Sun servers, storage and software for the back-end systems used for accounting, planning, e-mail and instant messaging. In addition, the Milwaukee Public School System has chosen Sun servers and Oracle database software to manage student records for its 100,000 students in 150 schools, Sun said.
