Hoping to attract PC shoppers looking for something radically different, Panda Project unveiled Rock City, a cube-shaped sub-$1,000 PC based on Intel's Pentium MMX chip.

The low-cost system is oddly cast in the form of a 10.5-inch cube, with lightning

The Rock City ST-100 starts at $895, and comes equipped with a 200-MHz Pentium MMX processor. The PC also features 32MB of memory, a 2GB hard drive, and a CD-ROM.

The higher-end Rock City ST-200 is also powered by a 200-MHz Pentium MMX with 32MB of memory, differing only with its 3GB hard drive. The model's base price starts at $995 with the option of boosting the processor to 233 MHz for an additional $65.

Both systems include 56-kbps modems and Windows 95.

Panda Project expects to release the two models by the end of this month.
