Steve Jobs is targetting $9.99 as the price for movie downloads in his company's negotiations with the movie studios. The studios have flatly rejected this pricing and would prefer multiple price points that are closer to DVD prices, according to a . This issue seems to be the sticking point for a future version of iTunes Music Store, which--like Starz Vongo and CinemaNow--would sell feature-length movies that presumably would be available for viewing on a new video iPod (one with better resolution, a bigger display, and better battery life).

While the movie industry might see this as too little, we think a $10 movie at 320x240 pixels (the current iPod resolution) is way too much.
