Can't wait until December to figure out exactly what's going to happen in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens"? Stephen Colbert's got you covered.
Since CBS' "The Late Show" took last week off and that's when , the late-night TV host wasn't able to offer up his geeky take on the trailer until now. (Editors' note: CNET is owned by CBS.) On Wednesday's show, Colbert told his audience he thinks he knows the entire plot of "The Force Awakens," and he was more than happy to share it with the world.
After telling the audience how "deeply moved" he was to see the Millennium Falcon again and how incredible it was to "see Chewbacca reunited with Han Solo's grandfather," Colbert proceeded to give his predictions.
We won't spoil too much of it for you here, but suffice it to say that in Colbert's "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" story, everything you think you know about, the Rebels and even the light and dark side of the Force is flipped around and turned on its head. Light becomes dark, dark becomes light and only a new wave of heroes can bring peace to the galaxy.
"The very fabric of the Force is stretched to its limit as a new generation emerges to tear down the false distinctions of the past and unite all of us, old and new, moisture farmers and nerf herders, Star and Wars once and for all to bring peace to the galaxy," Colbert predicts.
Of course, it's very likely Colbert's take on the movie is completely wrong. We'll just have to wait until "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" lands in theaters on December 17 in the UK and Australia, and December 18 in the US, to know the plot for sure.
