Staybowlizer offers a helping hand in the kitchen
The Staybowlizer is a simple silicone contrivance that helps to steady bowls. and it's heat-resistant up to 500 degrees.
How many hands do you have in the kitchen? Probably not three. It's too bad, because that would certainly make cooking easier sometimes. Perhaps someday an evolution will occur since three is better than two, but until then cooks everywhere will just have to make do letting the sauce burn when all that was needed was a free hand to stir the pot. Either that or use some sort of clever contraption to keep the cooking on track.
The Staybowlizer ($25) is exactly what it sounds like. A stabilizing stand that can be used to steady a bowl while mixing. It is made of silicone and designed to grip surfaces when a hand would normally be used. Since it is silicone, the simple kitchen accessory can also be used over heat. A prime example would be to use it to steady a stainless steel bowl when making sauces with a makeshift double boiler.
With no moving parts, the usefulness of the kitchen accessory is easy to grasp on an intuitive level; just set it down and put a bowl on top of it to keep things steady. For times when a little bit of extra stability is needed, flip it over and press down to create a suction effect. Considering its basic design, it's surprisingly versatile which is sure to come in handy -- at least until bowl evolution catches up.
