"Stargate" fans will be transported back to its beginnings with the new digital series "Stargate Origins," airing Feb. 15 on MGM's streaming service, aptly named Stargate Command

A new teaser trailer, posted Wednesday, reveals more about the main characters, as well as the unveiling of the circular portal that transports them to a different time and place.

"Stargate Origins" tells the backstory of Catherine Langford (played by Ellie Gall), the daughter of archaeologist Dr. Paul Langford. Dr. Langford is played by Connor Trinneer, who previously appeared in "Stargate Atlantis" as human-wraith hybrid Michael Kenmore.

The new teaser trailer features more footage of Catherine and her father. But there are also glimpses of what happens when Catherine uses the Stargate and is chased by some ominous military types.

Other cast members in the trailer include Philip Alexander, Salome Azizi, Michelle Jubilee Gonzalez, Daniel Rashid, Sarah Navratil, Shvan Aladin, Justin Michael Terry, Lincoln Werner Hoppe, Aylam Orian, Tonatiuh Elizarraraz and Derek Chariton.

The 10-episode series, set in the late 1920s and early 1930s, is written by Mark Ilvedson and Justin Michael Terry. It's directed by Mercedes Bryce Morgan.
