Starent attracts $23 million

Starent Networks announced Monday it raised a $23 million third round of funding. Samsung Electronics and previous investors Matrix Partners, North Bridge Venture Partners and Highland Capital Partners participated in this round. The Tewksbury, Mass.-based company has raised a total of $55 million. Starent Networks develops equipment for 2G, 2.5G and 3G wireless networks. Its technology is designed to offer voice capabilities, constant high-speed data capabilities and integrated voice and data features to mobile operators.
