It's a good time to be a Star Wars fan. We have "Rogue One" and "Episode VIII" on the way and Disney's "Star Wars Rebels" animated series is fun enough to appreciate at any age. Not to mention all the comics and books we can spend months reading.

And Star Wars video games seem to be getting better and better. Some fans even think The Old Republic's latest trailer is better than many Star Wars movies.

The six-minute video titled "Betrayed" sets the tone for the Knights of the Eternal Throne game expansion, which will be released this December.

"We're exploring a slightly different part of the family," Bioware creative producer Charles Boyd told iDigital Times. "In Fallen Empire, it was all about Arcann, the son, and his father, Valkorion. This year we really wanted to take the opportunity to explore the rest of the family and see how Valkorion's influence and Senya as the mother and Vaylin as the daughter, how that shows the other side of things, and how they get to where they were gonna be and why they are the way they are."

The game's trailer has everything that makes Star Wars great: a complicated family saga, strong characters, epic lightsaber battles, and enough cinematic lens flare to make director J.J. Abrams jealous. And best of all -- no Jar Jar type character in sight.
