Star Wars Stormtrooper tries out for Texas police 'force'

See a Star Wars Stormtrooper unsuccessfully attempt to impress a police officer in this geeky recruitment video that's gone viral.

You'd think the kind of Star Wars character known for being a bad shot wouldn't be the ideal candidate to join a police force in real life, but that didn't stop Texas police from using Stormtroopers in a recruitment video.

In a Facebook video posted by the Fort Worth Police Department last week, we see a police officer tell a Stormtrooper to "stop jerking the trigger" during his blaster test. The officer then shows him how to correctly hit the target.

Even when the whiny Stormtrooper complains he needs to be closer, he still can't hit the mark. No wonder Darth Vader was always so annoyed.

The idea of Stormtroopers trying out for the Texas police force (get it, Force?) has struck a nerve online. The video has since gone viral with over 15 million views and more than 19,000 comments.

This isn't the first time a Star Wars villain has attempted to join the Fort Worth Police Department. In 2015, Darth Vader unsuccessfully interviewed for a position with the department but was rejected due to his abuse of the Force.

The Fort Worth Police Department is accepting applications until December 12, just in case applicants other than Stormtroopers want to test their luck.
