Why should San Diego Comic-Con have all the fun? Now geeks who love pop culture, comics, movies, TV, games and gadgets can have their own convention thanks to technology icon Steve Wozniak and comic book legend Stan Lee.

The two powerhouses are teaming up to create Silicon Valley Comic Con -- to be held March 19 and 20, 2016 at the San Jose Convention Center.

"There are lots of fans like me in San Francisco and the Valley, and I'm excited that now we'll have a Comic Con with our very own flavor," Wozniak said in a statement.

"When I was growing up, it was hard to be a geek. It definitely wasn't cool, and that wasn't easy," Wozniak continued. "I'm happy things have changed because now people are able to be proud of being geeks and being different. Silicon Valley Comic Con will be an event where fans of all kinds can celebrate the Age of the Geek."

Lee added: "The one thing I want Woz to keep in mind is this: With great power comes great responsibility. I love the idea and can't wait to see it. Excelsior!"

SVCC plans on inviting both Hollywood celebrities and tech leaders involved in movies, TV, music, gaming, electronics, apps and emerging technologies.

Companies and artists interested in exhibiting can request more information on the Silicon Valley Comic Con website.
