Sprint poised to unveil HTC Evo One?
Old-school HTC Evo fans, listen up. Sprint may be mere days away from releasing a new HTC Evo One with LTE 4G.
At the time, HTC's Evo 4G blew most other Android phones out of the water. It had a fast 1GHz CPU, massive 4.3-inch screen, not one but two cameras, and a connection to Sprint's 4G WiMax data network. Heck, HTC even threw in an HDMI port for good measure.
All this made the Evo 4G one of the greatest Android phones of all time and much beloved by their owners. Apparently Sprint plans to recapture some of that magic by announcing the HTC Evo One, possibly a rebranded HTC One X, at a special press event next Wednesday night. This tip comes from the good folks at Android Central, which cite unnamed sources.
As the outlet suggests, Sprint's latest collaboration with HTC will likely take the form of a dual-core HTC One X instead of its quad-core-powered European sibling. Those bummed about less robust processing take heart, the Evo One is expected to boast a swift 4G connection courtesy of Sprint's brand new LTE network. That certainly beats WiMax hands down. I hope the Evo One's battery life won't take too much of a hit.
Other goodies on this rumored device are a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Krait CPU, 4.7-inch OLED screen, 16GB of internal memory plus microSD Card expansion slot, and a 2,650 mAh battery. Rounding out the package are an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front camera, and Beats audio. All the hardware will be run by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and HTC's latest Sense 4.0 user interface.
