Some, though, have seated themselves, considered their art and executed it to perfection.
One of these people is Sian Welby. She's the weather presenter for Britain's Channel 5. On the eve of "The Force Awakens," she offered a forecast that was beautifully written, superbly presented and full of awakening force.
Not once did she burst into giggles, as lesser mortals might have done. She offered such gems as "If you Luke father west," and suggested there might be a glimmer of sunshine "if you're wookie," but she kept her poise and tone.
Her warning of a portentous barometric change for some Brits was: "The weather strikes back."
Welby wanted people to take care on the roads. "Don't be a trooper," she said, seriously.
I have just got over the experience of actually seeing "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," which debuted in theaters this week. The movie romps along on a wave of angst and anguish and made me slightly relieved I wasn't one of the believers.
Welby's charming performance rather lifts my spirits, as I hope it lifts yours.
"The Force Awakens" isn't a movie that's easily forgotten. It contains some blustery conditions, a lot of snow and storms from seemingly every direction.
