Sony is clearly aiming to up its geek cred on the upcoming "Spider-Man: Homecoming" film, announcing the casting of "Silicon Valley" misanthrope Martin Starr in the film.
Starr, who made a name in "Freaks and Geeks" and is now known as Gilfoyle in "Silicon Valley," will appear in an as-yet unnamed role when the film is released in 2017, according to Deadline Hollywood. Also adding to the roll call of names is "Prometheus" alumnus Logan Marshall-Green.
Both men join a growing cast including Robert Downey Jr., Michael Keaton, Marisa Tomei and the recently announced Donald Glover. They'll all playing alongside Spidey-lead Tom Holland, who will reprise the role after first appearing in the red and blue in "Captain America: Civil War."
