The Last Guardian made quite a splash at the Sony press conference at last year's E3, and it was obvious why. We'd just seen a game come back from the dead. This week, in an interview with Edge magazine, the game's director Fumito Ueda confirmed that the game would be released in 2016 for the PlayStation 4.
The follow-up to Fumito Ueda's Ico and Shadow of the Colossus (both PlayStation 2 games), was first announced in 2007. The plan was to release it in 2011 for the PlayStation 3, but the story of the young boy and Trico, the giant creature he befriends, largely disappeared from the public eye.
With E3 2016 in a couple of weeks' time, stay tuned for more announcements. And, fingers crossed, a firm release date.
