Sony delays latest Transmeta notebook

Sony will delay the release of its CIMV PictureBook from the fourth quarter to January 2002 due to shortages of Transmeta's 5800 Crusoe processor, a Sony representative said Monday. The Crusoe processor has been delayed because of difficulties associated with producing the chip in large volumes. The CIMV will be the third Transmeta notebook from Sony.
