Sonus sells voice gear to Level 3

Sonus Networks, an Internet-based voice technology maker, said it has signed a multi-year deal to sell its equipment to Level 3 Communications. Sonus will provide Level 3, which is building a 16,000-mile U.S. fiber-optic network, with its phone-switching software and other infrastructure. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The deal marks another significant customer for Massachusetts-based Sonus, which claims Global Crossing, Qwest Communications International, Time Warner Telecom and BellSouth among its customers.
