Softricity raises $14.6 million

Software maker Softricity said Monday that it has raised $14.6 million in a third round of financing, bringing the total funding raised by the Boston-based company to $40 million. Softricity makes a product that allows customers to stream Microsoft desktop applications to multiple personal computers via a network. The company, which has partnerships with Microsoft and Citrix, said its software eliminates the need for installing and updating Windows applications computer by computer, saving time and resources. The software has been available since April. TD Capital Technology Ventures and FA Technology Ventures led the third round of financing and have lent an executive each to sit on Softricity's board of directors.
