SOA Software buys specialist Blue Titan
Blue Titan's messaging software to fill out SOA's infrastructure software for service-oriented architectures.
SOA Software said on Monday that it has acquired Blue Titan Systems, filling out the product line for building applications around a service-oriented architecture, a modular system design. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Privately held Blue Titan provides server software that is designed to reliably send messages between computers using standard protocols. Its software, used by a small number of leading-edge customers, also enables different messaging systems to interoperate, according to the company. SOA Software also focuses on corporate customers building a service-oriented architecture. Its software is designed around standard protocols for security and "governance," or tools that provide policies for tracking how shared applications are used within a company. Frank Martinez, CEO of Blue Titan, will become executive vice president of the combined company, focusing on product strategy, SOA said in a statement.
