The new tool gives Snapfish's 8 million users the option of e-mailing images directly to their accounts, bypassing the need to upload them through the service's Web site.
The upgrade also includes free photo software and the option of printing poster-size images. Snapfish offers scanning of photographs and storage of digital photos for viewing on the Web. It also develops rolls of film.
Consumers can e-mail their images to email@example.com from a computer, a camera phone or a personal digital assistant. Once the delivery of the photos has been confirmed through a response e-mail, Snapfish posts the images to the subscriber's Snapfish account.
The San Francisco company's new photo management and display software, Snapfish PhotoShow Express, offers organization, editing and multimedia tools.
