Sky Movies Christmas channel brings back-to-back Xmas flicks

From now until into the New Year, it's non-stop Christmas films over on Sky's channel.

Today is the first day of advent, so time to get in the Christmas spirit with some festive films. Well Sky has got you covered -- today it's launched its Sky Movies Christmas channel, which will show back-to-back festive flicks into the New Year. It's the gift that keeps on giving!

If you want the films to fit your schedule, rather than the other way around, then check out the Sky Movies Christmas collection, which offers 26 Christmas classics on-demand.

On-demand, you've got awesome festive fare like Grumpy Old Men, Jingle All The Way, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (a personal favourite), The Muppet Christmas Carol, Arthur Christmas, and Elf. And, er, Ernest Saves Christmas. There's also a couple I've never heard of (Booky and the Secret Santa, The Flight Before Christmas) and a few dog-themed movies (Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups, A Christmas Tail, The 12 Dogs of Christmas). But I'm sure they're a lot of fun.

On Sky's other movie channels, you'll find slightly more variety: there's Wreck-It Ralph, Iron Man 3, and John McClane is back in A Good Day to Die Hard. Though that last one is a complete Christmas turkey, from the reviews I've read.

If you're at someone else's house on Christmas Day, don't forget you can control your set-top box remotely using your mobile. Just download Sky Go, or Virgin Media's TV Anywhere app -- which has just launched on Android -- and you can schedule recordings, delete shows, and more, all from your phone. Might make sense to cue up a few treats for yourself for later, if you're subjected to the likes of Noel Edmonds once you're stuffed with turkey.

What'll you be watching this festive season? I know what I will be. Let me know in the comments, or on our Facebook page.
