Sky+HD World Cup limited edition: Three Sky boxes and 1 terabyte

Sky has signed up three English icons to kit out the limited edition World Cup 1TB Sky+HD box: Wayne Hemingway, Gerald Scarfe and Phil Daniels make their mark

Sky has announced three limited edition Sky+HD boxes. Designed by Wayne Hemingway, Gerald Scarfe and Phil Daniels, the 1TB HD+ PVRs celebrate the forthcoming 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Red or Dead head fashion designer Wayne Hemingway harks back to 1966 with his box, celebrating England's only World Cup win. Illustrator Gerald Scarfe gives us a characteristically creepy football-headed fan, also in '66 vintage red. You might expect more '60s-style sharp tailoring and mod attitude from Quadrophenia star Phil Daniels, but he's turned to his time in South Africa filming Zulu Dawn for colourful inspiration.

If you're thinking of sorting out your cinema setup before the contest kicks off, tackle our round-up of the best surround-sound systems for the World Cup. If you want to bring on a limited edition 1TB Sky+HD box, they arrive in late May. They'll cost £250 each, which is the same as the standard 1TB box. If you don't fancy shelling out for Sky, our guide to buying a Freeview HD TV will let you enjoy the tournament in hi-def for less.
