Siemens phones to carry RIM service

Research In Motion announces that Siemens mobile phones will be able to wirelessly access BlackBerry services, such as e-mail, calendar and browser applications.

Research In Motion announced Friday that Siemens mobile phones will be able to wirelessly access BlackBerry services, such as e-mail, calendar and browser applications. Siemens will introduce a handset in its 65 series with BlackBerry capabilities in the fourth quarter of this year. RIM has been partnering with phone makers in an effort to grow the pool of devices that can use its service. However, pending patent litigation with holding company NTP is weighing down on those efforts.
