Salesforce.com has hired former Siebel Systems sales executive Dave Orrico to lead sales efforts in the United States, Canada and Latin America, the San Francisco-based company plans to announce Monday. Orrico, who served as vice president of Eastern operations at Siebel, is the second executive from San Mateo, Calif.-based Siebel to join rival Salesforce in the past month.
Salesforce and Siebel compete in the market for business applications that are designed to streamline sales and marketing activities, also known as customer relationship management (CRM). Salesforce has taken aim at Siebel, the largest CRM software company. It said it has scooped up a number of Siebel customers.
