Unidata and Hewlett-Packard said they are teaming to build an object-relational database management system to run on HP 9000 servers. The database, set to debut in the first half of next year, will support high-volume transaction processing applications for Web-based commerce and other applications, according to the company. Unidata is partnering with French software maker O2 Technology to build the software. No pricing has been announced.
