Travel information source Zagat.com is taking an equity stake in Vindigo, a provider of personal navigation services for handheld devices. Under the deal, Zagat.com will provide its restaurant ratings and reviews to Vindigo users in New York, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco and Washington, D.C. Financial details were not disclosed. In April, New York-based Vindigo received $9 million in first-round funds from General Atlantic Partners and Flatiron Partners, among others. Privately held Zagat Survey publishes books and Web-based information on dining, lodging and leisure.
