Short Take: Wired offers free DVD software

Wired is offering free DVD playback software for its MasonX MPEG playback board for PowerMacs. It can play back DVD movies from a computer DVD-ROM drive, or from DVD video streamed from a hard disk, CD-ROM drive, or computer network. Wired will demonstrate the software at Macworld. The MasonX MPEG playback card costs $899.
