Short Take: WebTV to cut prices

Sony Electronics and Philips Consumer Electronics, makers of set-top boxes for WebTV Networks, have cut prices by up to 25 percent for the devices in an effort to spur sales, according to an Associated Press report. The move comes less than two weeks after Microsoft's purchase of WebTV for $425 million.
