Verio, a national ISP for small- and mid-sized business, has expanded its network of locally managed Internet providers by acquiring Branch Internet Services, an Ann Arbor, Michigan-based company known for its Web-hosting and technology development. Since Verio launched in March, it has created a network that serves 28 of the top 50 U.S. markets.
