VeriFone, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hewlett-Packard, has named Robin Abrams president and chief executive. Abrams succeeds Hatim Tyabji, who will retire at the end of the year. At VeriFone, she has been responsible for all sales, marketing, and operations for VeriFone's Americas Group. Prior to VeriFone, Abrams worked at Apple Computer as vice president and general manager of Apple Americas.
