Short Take: USi inks application hosting deal with Microsoft

USinternetworking (USi) has signed a $50 million deal with Microsoft to develop and sell application-hosting services built on Microsoft Windows 2000 and .Net operating systems. USi will sell these applications--the first of which will be available in December, according to the company--to midsize-business customers. The deal builds upon USi's existing partnership with Microsoft that includes hosting services based on Microsoft Exchange email software.
