Jimmy and Doug's Farmclub.com, the new-music Net subsidiary of Universal Music Group, says it has laid off
about 15 percent of its employees. The company says cutting the 17 mostly technology-focused employees came as the site reached technological maturity after a year of operation. The layoffs follow a string of other
layoffs and closures in the Net music business.
