Toshiba America Electronic Components has announced two toolkits to help OEMs assemble PCs equipped with DVD-ROM drives. The company has already started shipping a $3,000 evaluation toolkit with the hardware and device drivers needed to install a DVD-ROM drive. Later this month, Toshiba will also release a $15,000 design kit to help manufacture PCs that accommodate the drives.
