Short Take: Tivoli upgrades mainframe software

Tivoli Systems, an IBM subsidiary, will soon ship new management software for OS/390, its operating system for mainframe computers. Tivoli NetView for OS/390 version 1.3 will feature faster detection of network problems, while Tivoli NetView Performance Monitor version 2.5 offers a new Java-based graphical interface and faster installation. Both products will ship this year. Tivoli has released an update to Tivoli Service Desk for OS/390, software that lets administrators centrally manage OS/390-based systems.
