Short Take: Texas Instruments to acquire assets of Oasix and Arisix
Texas Instruments has entered an agreement to purchase certain assets of Oasix and Arisix, both digital integrated circuit design centers for hard disk drive products. The acquisitions will complement TI's existing mass storage capabilities at its California-based subsidiary, Silicon Systems, part of its Storage Products Group. Oasix and Arisix have a combined count of approximately 20 full-time employees. TI will acquire the companies' assets, design tools, and licenses in a deal expected to close by mid-year.
