Short Take: TCI gets more digital business

Tele-Communications Incorporated gained 300,000 digital cable customers between the end of July and early November, bringing its total to 720,000. The figures exclude digital customers who are in cable systems that will be transferred to pending cable partnerships, the company said in a Reuters report. Including those customers, TCI had about 1 million digital customers as of early November. TCI president Leo Hindery predicts some 80 percent of current analog TV customers will convert to digital in less than five years.
