Short Take: Tandem increases stake in Mexico

Tandem Computers has said it is taking a 100 percent equity position in Tandem Computers Mexico and will operate it as a wholly owned subsidiary. Tandem Computers Mexico was founded as a joint venture in 1980 with Tandem owning 45 percent of the company. Last month, Compaq purchased Tandem as part of its effort to become an enterprise computing provider.
