Short Take: SyQuest retains CIBC as investment banker

Disk storage maker SyQuest Technology said it has retained CIBC Oppenheimer as its investment banker to assist with its ongoing review of strategic and financial alternatives. In addition, SyQuest said CIBC will advise the company as it negotiates strategic partnerships and joint ventures with other companies. CIBC will also advise SyQuest on potential acquisitions.
