Bestow, 32, who most recently served as corporate controller for Petersen Publishing, replaces Barbara Velline. Bestow is charged with refining the company's financial reporting and control systems. His appointment comes on the heels of Syncronys's announcement that it has requested an extension on the filing of its June 30, 1997, fiscal year-end results with the SEC.
