Short Take: Symantec releases Norton 2000 for small businesses

Symantec announced a new small business version of its Norton 2000 utility tool for addressing the Year 2000 bug for the desktop and PC. The Norton 2000 is available for small businesses in quantities of 10-99 seats, at approximately $37 per seat. Norton 2000 uses a boot floppy to test and fix RTCs (real time clocks) and the BIOS within PC software, preventing users from inadvertently destroying data and program configurations during testing, the company said.
