Sterling Software
reported quarterly revenues of $126 million, up 9 percent
from a year earlier. The company reported net profits of $13.7
million for the quarter after taking a charge for
discontinued operations. Meanwhile, electronic commerce company Sterling Commerce, which was spun off
from Sterling in an IPO, reported fourth-quarter revenues of $80.3 million,
up 33 percent over last year. Earnings reached $18.1 million, up from $13.7
million a year ago.
