Short Take: Sony puts music downloads on Vitaminic

Digital music provider Vitaminic says it has teamed with Sony Music Entertainment to let people purchase secure, downloadable music. Under the deal, Vitaminic will distribute and promote about 600 digital downloads from Sony musicians in addition to Vitaminic's existing catalog of more than 600 labels and 20,000 artists. Sony Music offers downloads with Microsoft's Windows Media digital rights management as well as its Windows Media format. The service will be launched on Vitaminic.com during the first quarter of 2001.
