Short Take: Snap to launch free email

The Snap Web-based online service is developing a free email feature with email firm iName, to be launched in mid-June. Snap is late to offer free email, which is already available on Net gateways Yahoo, Excite, Lycos, and others. iName also provides free email services to portal site AltaVista. Snap is a division of CNET: The Computer Network, which publishes NEWS.COM.
