Shaw Communications, a Canadian cable operator, posted a first quarter loss but said Shaw@Home Internet subscriptions showed strong growth. For the quarter ended November 30, Shaw reported a net loss of C$8.6 million, or 18 cents a share (Canadian), compared with net income of C$6.4 million, or 6 cents a share, a year ago. Quarterly revenue rose to C$213.2 million from C$191.8 million last year. Shaw claims 81,290 @Home subscribers.
