Silicon Graphics announced it has increased the number of shares authorized for purchase under a stock repurchase plan originally announced in 1995. The previous plan allowed the purchase of 12.5 million shares; the modified plan increases the total to 22.5 million shares. The company has already bought about 7.4 million shares under the plan. The shares will be used in the company's employee stock plans and for other corporate purposes.
