Short Take: SBC offers DSL self-installation

SBC Communications has introduced self-installation capabilities for consumer high-speed digital subscriber line () Internet connections in its Midwest Ameritech region. Self-installation kits aim to allow consumers the ability to install and provision their high-speed Net connections without the help of a qualified technician. Self-installation is expected to speed the launch of broadband technologies. Previously, SBC offered self-install kits in other regions.
