E-services firm Sapient reported second-quarter earnings that beat Wall Street consensus estimates. Excluding charges, the Cambridge, Massachusetts-based firm earned $8.19 million, or 27 cents per share, compared to $5.2 million, or 18 cents a year ago. Revenue rose 76 percent to $64.2 million. Some of Sapient's clients in the first half of the year included Hallmark, Virgin Megastore, and Sallie Mae. The firm also appointed PriceWaterhouseCoopers as its auditor during the quarter.
