Short Take: Salon developing subscription service

Online magazine is planning to launch a premium subscription service, according to president and publisher Michael O'Donnell. He said the current magazine will remain free, and the subscription area will contain additional content, special programming, and commerce deals. The service is still in the research and testing phase, and O'Donnell said he expects it to launch sometime during the next six months. Pricing has not yet been determined.
