Short Take: S3 unveils integrated chip

S3-VIA, a joint venture of chipmakers S3 and VIA Technologies, today announced that it has entered into full production with its first integrated chip. Based on S3's graphics and video technology and VIA's core logic expertise, the chip is the first step in a projected line of multi-function chips for desktop and notebook PCs.
